Collaborative & Conscious Material Design is a collective publication accompanying an exhibition of the same title. It examines environmentally conscious approaches to working with materials in design, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration as a critical condition for addressing contemporary ecological challenges. Through expert texts and a curated selection of international case studies, the book offers both conceptual frameworks and practical insights intended for designers, researchers, and students engaged in the evolving discourse on materials and design.

Vedle těchto případových studií kniha dále rozvíjí hlavní témata prostřednictvím odborných textů, které nabízejí hlubší vhled, historický kontext a konkrétní příklady environmentálně uvědomělého materiálového designu.
This collective publication uncovers the stories behind each project — the development journeys, team dynamics, and the synergies that made interdisciplinary collaboration possible. It highlights practical insights, proven approaches, and the challenges encountered along the way to creating sustainable material solutions. Beyond these case studies, the book also expands on the main themes through expert texts that offer deeper insights, historical context, and concrete examples of environmentally conscious material design.

Structured into thematic sections, it combines theoretical reflections with practical perspectives, showing how interdisciplinary teams collaborated, what conditions supported their work, and how new sustainable materials were developed. The publication ultimately seeks to inspire both students and professionals to adopt sustainable principles and collaborative strategies in their own practice.
The book is available for purchase online through the university’s e-shop.
