We invite you to be part of the upcoming exhibition Collaborative & Conscious Material Design and its accompanying peer-reviewed publication.
What is the exhibition about?
The exhibition will highlight groundbreaking approaches in sustainable material design, responding to pressing environmental challenges. It will showcase pioneering projects that push the boundaries of design, material science, and engineering, demonstrating how interdisciplinary collaboration drives innovation in this field.
Beyond presenting innovative materials, this exhibition aims to explore the stories behind them—the development processes, collaboration dynamics, and the synergies that make interdisciplinary work successful. Rather than focusing on proprietary material know-how, the exhibition seeks to understand and share the best interdisciplinary practices that contribute to meaningful progress in sustainable material innovation. The research behind this exhibition is part of a broader academic study on interdisciplinary collaboration in material development.
︎The exhibition will take place in the fall of 2025 at creative hub KUMST, in Brno (Czechia) and will contain launching a peer-reviewed catalogue.
︎ The presentation of the exhibitors will take place through samples of their materials and accompanying texts from the publication.
Why should you apply?
This is a unique opportunity to present your work as an example of best practices in sustainable material development. Selected projects will be featuredat the exhibition and in a printed peer-reviewed critical catalogue in English.
The publication will explore key themes in environmental responsibility, interdisciplinarity and innovation in material design. It will include expert contributions, theoretical frameworks and case studies, offering a valuable resource for designers, architects, scientists, students, and professionals.
Who can apply?
We are looking for:
✔ Innovative and environmentally responsible materials.
✔ Projects developed by interdisciplinary teams – designers, material scientists, engineers, architects, artists.
✔ Materials which have been already applied on the market.
If your project was developed within an interdisciplinary team that worked closely together throughout the entire material development process, please submit your application even if the material has not yet been launched on the market. Interdisciplinary teamwork is essential to the exhibition/project.
How to apply? Share your project by providing information about the material and your contact details. Let us know which disciplines were involved in its development.
